The Process:

After initially contacting me, we will discuss your vision for your show as well as your group's level.  At this point, we can also discuss your ensemble's needs and create a contract.  Next, I will find a time to meet with your design staff to discuss your show in order to identify the main visual impact moments (as informed by the music). From these main moments, we can then work to identify other potential visual statements as well as design requests (e.g. equipment changes, soloists, colorguard staging, etc.)  Then, once I recieve a score and sound file I can create a count sheet for your show which will have the count structure and number of sets per movement (see gallery page).  Lastly, I will need all finalized section numbers, soloist information, and design requests before I begin writing your drill.

Final checklist for drill writing:

  • Signed Contract

  • Music Score

  • .mp3 file for each movement of show music

  • Specific Design Requests (soloists, features, etc.)

  • Finalized section numbers

My Promise:

I will work to create a comprehensive visual design for your group that will not only make them look great, but sound great as well.  I will also communicate directly with your design team to create an effective visual package that sets up your students for success by writing to a level that they are able to achieve.

In addition, I promise to have your drill delivered before you need to learn it.  This will allow for you and your staff to review your drill and address any concerns before it ever reaches the students' hands.

Thank you for considering me as your visual designer.  I promise to deliver my best work to each and every group that I work with in order to set them up for success.
